"Namura Shipyard & Ironwork" was established in Osaka by Gennosuke Namura.

1931

By demutualizing, Namura Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. was established. Gennosuke Namura assumed the post of President.

1942

Opened Tokyo Office.

1949

Went public on the First Section of the Osaka Securities Exchange.

1961

Set up Steel Structure Factory, entered into Steel Structure sector.

1966

Group Company, Meiwa Sangyo Co., Ltd. was established.

1972

Decided to construct a new shipyard in Imari-city, Saga prefecture.

Completed construction of "FEDERAL BULKER"(43,700DWT), the largest ship ever built in Osaka Factory.

1974

Completed construction of Imari Factory including the building dock.

1975

Completed construction of "INDUSTRIAL PROSPERITY"(87,800DWT), the first ship built in Imari Factory.

1978

Completed construction of "SEATRAIN INDEPENDENCE"(909TEU), a first container ship ever built in Namura.

1979

Ceased newbuilding construction in Osaka Factory.

1981

Group Company, Kita-Kyu Food Service Co., Ltd. was established.

Completed construction of the "FLOATING BAR" ordered by the government of Republic of Nauru.

1983

Renamed Imari Factory to Imari Shipyard & Works.

Completed construction of Land Machine Shop in Imari Shipyard & Works.

Group Company, Namura Information Systems Co., Ltd. was established.

Group Company, Genkai Technical Engineering Co., Ltd. was established.

1985

Imari Shipyard & Works was certified by ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers).

1986

Opened Fukuoka Office (Renamed as Fukuoka Sales Office).

Group Company, Namura Engineering Co., Ltd. was established.

1988

Tatsuhiko Namura assumed the post of President.

1990

Opened Nagoya Sales Office.

Set up WIN21 Department as a core department for CIMS formulation.

Started Divisional System (Shipbuilding & Offshore Division, Steel Structure Division).

Group Company, Unithai Shipyard & Engineering Ltd. was established, by merging four companies in Kingdom of Thailand.

1994

Obtained ISO 9001 and JIS Z9901 certification at Shipbuilding & Offshore Division.
1996 Opened Nagano Sales Office.

1997

Started an operation of "VISION", the self-developed shipbuilding CIM System.

Obtained ISO 9001 and JIS Z9901 certification at Steel Structure Division in bridges, floodgates, and steel frames.

Opened Fukuoka Sales Office.

1998

Opened Saga Sales Office.

Group Company, Namura Marine Co., Ltd. was established.

1999 Opened Hiroshima Sales Office.

2000

Obtained ISO 14001 and JIS Q14001 certification at Imari Shipyard & Works.

2001

Capital participation in Hakodate Dock Co., Ltd.

2005

Expansion of the shipbuilding facilities in Imari Shipyard & Works (The first large-scale facility investment).

2007

Intensify the shipbuilding equipment in Imari Shipyard & Works (Second large-scale equipment investment).

Further expansion of the shipbuilding facilities in Imari Shipyard & Works (The second large-scale facility investment).

2011

Kensuke Namura assumed the post of President. (to the present)

2013

Went public on the First Section of the Tokyo Securities Exchange.

2014

Acquired all shares of and wholly owned Sasebo Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.
